Supporting Our Troops – What to Put in Care Packages

by

We recently said Au Revoir to my niece’s husband who is being deployed and my other nephew has just graduated boot camp and will be deployed soon. They come from a long line of military men in our family that have served in World War II up to today.

Care packages are certainly on our agenda, but not sure what can and cannot be sent. My grandmother had 4 sons in WWII. She baked cookies, cakes and such and provided them with socks, gloves and other things any Mom would think of to make sure her sons were taken care of even long distance. Things have changed over the years and there are some things that just will not be allowed. I have gone on the hunt for help from amazing people over at facebook Military Moms Coping With Deployment. I hope if you are considering sending a soldier a care package whether a loved one or a soldier you don’t know but want to show their appreciated, this will help you too.

If you know of another place that would be helpful in supporting and honoring our soldiers, please leave a comment below and a link to that site, it would be much appreciated.
