1-2 lbs. boneless chuck, cut into 1 inch cubes
3 – 4 Red Potatoes cut up bite size
1 Onion cut up bite size
1 Large or Two Small Turnips
2 Large Carrots cut up bite size
2 Stalks Celery cut up bite size
1/2 c. flour
1/4 c. olive oil (or oil of your choice)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 clove garlic, chopped (optional)
2 Cups beer
2 Cups Water
1 pkg Auju or Stew Seasoning Mix
1 TBS Worcestershire
1 TBS flour
1 Bay Leave
1 tsp Oregano
Parsley for Garnish
Coat beef cubes with the 1/2 cup flour. Brown in olive oil.
Drain off excess fat.
In Crock Pot, combine browned meat with the rest of the veggies, salt, pepper, and beer, Worcestershire and auju or stew mix.
Cover and cook on High 5-1/2 hours. **You may need to add another 2 cups water about 3 hours into cooking.
Dissolve 1 TBS flour in 1/2 cup water. Stir into stew and it should thicken in about a minute. Cover and turn off crock pot. Let set 15 minutes.
